Raymond Station

Raymond Volunteer Fire Department

The Raymond Rural Fire District was formed in 1947 and the first two-stall fire barn was erected in 1948.  This building is now the Raymond Village City Hall. As time went on, the need for larger and more sophisticated equipment required larger quarters.

In October 1975 the current Raymond Station was dedicated.  In 1982, two more stalls were added to the north side of the building to house the ambulance.

A substation at 27th Street and Arbor Road was refurbished in 1987.  This stationed was manned in 1988 and has two stalls, a small meeting area and can house up to four firefighters.

The Raymond Rural Fire District population is rapidly growing.  To meet the needs of the District the Raymond Rural Fire District the District Board and the Raymond Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department are working together to design and construct a new fire station.  The equipment necessary to serve the needs of the District is larger and has more modern technology, therefore the need for a larger and more technologically updated station.

The District has an excellent fleet of fire and rescue equipment along with a boat for water rescue.  The members of the Department are trained in Crash Injury Management, Firefighting, Hazardous Materials Operations, C.P.R., Basic Life Support, Scuba Diving and Jaws of Life.
